Another day, another enraging story of justice denied to American citizens victimized by illegal aliens, because a liberal judge took the side of a foreign criminal.
Earlier I reported on an illegal alien from Guatemala who was released from a deportation order for one week by an Arizona judge, and then fled to Alabama where he killed a schoolteacher in a hit and run.
Today we hear the outrageous story of a Boston-area mom whose long-time housekeeper stole her checks and fraudulently cashed more than $70,000 — from the family’s college savings account, no less.
But instead of facing justice, the housekeeper — an illegal alien — was allowed to keep her passport by a judge…and immediately fled the state, and likely the country.
Eve Dougherty discovered the missing funds too late, meaning Citizen’s Bank did not reimburse the money from the college savings account for her three kids.
“It’s a very expensive lesson,” she lamented at the time.
An expensive lesson, but Dougherty figured she would at least get some justice in court.
Aparecida Rodrigues Alves (known to clients as “Amanda”) faced felony criminal charges for identity fraud, larceny and check forgery.
“Identity fraud” because Alves was an illegal alien, a fact the homeowner reportedly did not know about, since she gave Dougherty a different name “Amanda Lopez” and a stolen social security number when she was hired.
But it got much worse…
After pleading not guilty, Alves was released on personal recognizance but received one specific order from Judge Thomas Kaplanes.
“She is to surrender her passport,” he said.
However, after leaving the courtroom that day, it turns out Alves had a change of heart. A few days later—the deadline to surrender her passport—Alves told probation officials that she wanted to keep it.
They told her a judge would need to make the decision and set a hearing for later that afternoon in Charlestown.
That’s when a different judge, Michael Coyne, lifted the requirement for Alves to surrender her passport.
And you won’t believe the — 100% false — reason the longtime ultra-liberal judge gave for his decision:
“The systems at the airports, bus terminals and train stations are so strict today than they were a few years ago, it would be doubtful she could get out of the country at this point if she has a pending case,” Coyne can be heard explaining on the court recording.
No such system exists, and why should it? Does this judge with decades on the bench really think people are barred from flying just because they have a pending case in court? Or was he looking for an excuse to go easy on an illegal, as leftie judges so often do?
So — despite “raising children locally,” Alves is LONG gone, along with the money.
Truly insane. WATCH for full details:
This judge should be immediately suspended. If you serve the interests of foreign grifter criminals over American citizens you have no business on the bench.
